Today was a big day.... we finally got to Kentucky. I love this state. They have some of the most beautiful roads, homes, scenery and people.
It seems to take forever to get our of IL & Ohio & Indiana. When we were driving through IL, I remember telling Bruce, if I see the Sears Tower I am going to scream..... well guess what.
The ride through Chicago was awesome, never thought I would say that. We took Hwy 41, great ride.
This is a man "Texting" while driving. I drove next to him for 10 minutes in traffic and kept going back and forth and he never stopped texting the time that we rode next to him. So.....I took his picture, he didn't even notice.
Just before we got to Kentucky we stopped at a park....
See that bridge???? On the other side is Kentucky. I also discovered something today........I'm not afraid of bridges anymore. Yeahhh for me :)
Weee'rrrreeeee Heeerrre
We drove for about an hour and stopped to get some water and gas. Bruce was really upset because the gas station/deli had deep fried chicken gizzards. He decided losing the next 80lbs. was more important then having one. Works for me. Well when we got ready to go, his bike didn't start. We met some very nice guys who jumped it and off we went. We didn't get more than 10 miles down the road and his gauges all stopped working and the bike was losing power. Bruce found a spot to pull over and when he did, the bike quit running and wouldn't start again.
It was a nice spot, we even had our own horse to talk to. :)
We called the Harley Dealer in Lexington, but their service was closed and they wouldn't tow us because we didn't have a current HOG membership. We did some web surfing on our phones and found a tow company that would come and pick up the bike and take it to the dealer.
A passer-by stopped an talked to us and told us a little bit about the property. The stable here was the original barn and the holes in the side is where they used to shoot from during the civil war.If you looked across the road there was a big hill where the other side would be coming down shooting.
There were 5 horses out in the field when we got that. Shortly after they all started to some down to the stable. The first 4 went in and the bay one hung around outside for the first hour. The doors on the stable were locked but I could see in through the cracks. It was amazing to me that the horses would just go into their stall all by them selves. I took my camera and put the lens in the crack of the door and got a couple of pics of the horses.
We waited for 3 1/2 hours and hour tow finally showed up. It took him an other 30 min. to get everything hooked up right and then we were on our way.
If you look real close .... Bruce is not happy with me LMAO
We had a 30 min ride to the dealer in Lexington. I saw some beautiful homes and some not so beautiful homes.
4 1/2 hours later we arrived at the Dealer and then the tow truck driver was nice enough to give Bruce a ride to the hotel. We were lucky enough to be in an area where there was everything.
Tomorrow will be great.
Wish you were here.
